Fly Fishing Nymphs Video from a trip to Welsh Dee at Llangollene
It was a bright sunny afternoon on the Welsh Dee and there was no sign of any rising fish. Therefore, without rising fish to target, I decided to fish Sycamore Run and The Channels with a team of small nymphs on a short Euornymphing leader set-up using a 11ft 3# Vision Nymphmanic fly rod.
The two nymphs were spaced 18″ apart on a 4lbs copolymer leader (point nymph: size 14 yellow peacock quill nymph with a 3mm tungsten bead; dropper nymph: size 16 olive perdigon nymph).

Day tickets to fish the Welsh Dee around Llangollen can be obtained from Llangollen-Maelor fishing club. The day ticket covers about 10 miles Welsh Dee fishing in the beautiful Llangollen valley. It holds a good head of wild brown trout and has some of the best grayling fishing in the UK.
I hope you enjoyed this video fly fishing nymphs on a short leader and it inspires you to take a trip to fish the beautiful Welsh Dee. Also, if you enjoyed the content, please subscribe to my YouTube channel.
Tight Lines, Andrew
There is a section of water near there where a large foam patch always forms in a back eddy. I find that section particularly productive. It’s very deep so large nymphs are needed.
Hi Mark, will give that spot a fish next time I’m there.
Cheers, Andrew
